Suspect in custody after shooting outside Miami restaurant
A man is in custody after allegedly opening fire outside a Miami restaurant Saturday night, prompting a shootout with police that ended with the suspect being hospitalized.
According to Miami police, the incident began around 9 p.m. when a man fired a gun from outside a restaurant. Officers responded to the scene and confronted the suspect in the parking lot, leading to an initial exchange of gunfire.
Authorities say the suspect fled on foot, and a second round of shots was fired before officers were able to take him into custody. Authorities say the suspect was shot multiple times and transported by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital. His condition has not been released.
No officers were injured in the incident. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.
