Inter Miami, Nu Sign One of MLS’ Largest Stadium Naming Rights Deals

Months after hoisting its first MLS Cup, Inter Miami has another milestone to celebrate.

On Wednesday, the South Florida club announced a stadium naming rights partnership with Brazilian digital financial services company Nu. Inter Miami did not disclose the financial terms or the length of the arrangement, but a person familiar with the matter told Sportico that it is one of the largest naming rights deals for a soccer-specific stadium in MLS history.

LAFC set a record in 2023 when it signed a 10-year, $100 million pact with BMO. New York City FC surpassed that mark a year later, landing a 20-year deal with Etihad Airways. But that stadium isn’t expected to open until 2027.

The addition of Nu is the latest entry in the business renaissance of Inter Miami. Since Argentine superstar Lionel Messi took his talents to South Beach three years ago, the club’s local revenues have nearly quadrupled from $55 million in 2022 to $215 million in 2025. That has propelled Inter Miami to the top spot of MLS’ valuation table, ranking No. 1 in the league with an enterprise value of $1.45 billion.

Inter Miami plans to open what will be dubbed “Nu Stadium” in April. It has played at a temporary venue since its debut season in 2020 that seats 21,550 following multiple rounds of expansion. The club’s new 26,700-seat home will host concerts, corporate and private events and other sports competitions. Nu will also lend its branding to a premium hospitality lounge inside the stadium and a plaza space in the adjacent $1 billion Miami Freedom Park mixed-use development site.

Starting in August, the brand will have a presence on Inter Miami’s kits, too, taking advantage of MLS’ new policy that allows clubs to sell ads on the back of jerseys.

Nu was founded in 2013 and now counts 131 million customers across Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021, trading under the symbol “NU,” and currently has a market cap of roughly $71 billion. Nu posted revenues of $4.9 billion and a net income of $895 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Inter Miami partnership coincides with the company’s ambitions to expand to the U.S. of which it received conditional approval in January.

It’s not Nu’s only sports sponsorship. The firm announced a multi-year partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petrona F1 Team earlier this year.
