Top Canes targets competing in Under Armour Miami on Sunday

The Under Armour Camp Series is making its annual stop in South Florida on Sunday. That will draw some of the areas best to the Dade-Broward County line to compete at Ives Estates Park to compete in front of the selection committee for the Under Armour All-American Game.

It will also give us the opportunity to watch some top Miami targets expected to be in attendance. The line of scrimmage guys kick off the camp and two of the Hurricanes top defensive tackle targets are set to work. Those would be Myron Charles and Jarquez Carter.

Charles, a Top247 defensive tackle prospect, stands at 6-foot-4, 290-pounds and has an official visit with the Hurricanes locked in for the weekend of June 14, while Carter has seen his recruitment take plenty of shape this off-season with programs like Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and multiple others extending offers.

Miami (Fla.) Central defensive lineman Randy Adirika is another that nearby Miami is very high on.

Miami (Fla.) Norland defensive linemen and twin brothers Darryll and Mandrell Desir are two others the Hurricanes have done their homework on. The same could be said about Fort Pierce (Fla.) Westwood EDGE Cameron Gooden, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas EDGE Richard Scott III.

The running back room will feature a key Miami target in Plantation American Heritage’s Byron Louis, who will be back down in Coral Gables on March 30. His former teammate and now Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic Top247 running back Deandre Desinor is another name the Hurricanes have explored.

Miami Central linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin will be a key name in the linebacker room to watch. He will be at the program’s first spring practice on Monday.

In typical South Florida fashion, the wide receivers and defensive backs will steal the show. Miami commit and Palm Beach Central’s Waden Charles is expected to compete.

Homestead (Fla.) Top247 wide receiver Cortez Mills may be the biggest name working out in the wide receiver room as far as Miami is concerned, but there are other talented prospects like Miami Central’s Naeshaun Montgomery, Cocoa (Fla.) Top247 wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, an Ohio State commit, Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward’s Joshua Moore, Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch’s Samari Reed, Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy Top247 wide receiver Winston Watkins, and Palm Beach (Fla.) Central’s Kamare Williams.

In the secondary, Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington Top247 cornerback Ben Hanks Jr. and Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Top247 cornerback Chris Ewald are two key targets, alongside Miami (Fla.) Columbus Top247 safety Bryce Fitzgerald, Miami (Fla.) Central Top247 safety Amari Wallace, and Plantation American Heritage Top247 defensive back Gregory Xavier Thomas.

Cape Coral (Fla.) defensive back Darrion Jones is another who the Hurricanes have expressed interest in in the past, while Miami (Fla.) Central cornerback Zion Paret has been an off-season riser in South Florida.

The Class of 2026 will feature some strong talent as well, most notably Miami (Fla.) Northwestern wide receiver Calvin Russell, Miami (Fla.) Norland linebacker Jordan Campell (Miami commit), Plantation American Heritage quarterback Dia Bell, Folsom (Cali.) quarterback Ryder Lyons, Palm Beach (Fla.) Benjamin linebacker Adam Balogoun-Ali, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep linebacker Bryant Junius, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Denairius Gray (Auburn commit), West Boca (Fla.) running back Javian Mallory, Plantation American Heritage wide receiver Malachi Toney (Miami commit), and Miami (Fla.) True North Classical defensive back Dominic Turnbull.
