Miami football in good place for 4-star WR Ny Carr after Georgia de-commitment

The Miami football program is in a good place for 2024 four-star wide receiver Ny Carr following his de-commitment from Georgia. Several media outlets are reporting that Carr could be trending to Miami. Tight ends coach Cody Woodiel visited Carr on Monday at Moultrie, Colquitt County High in Georgia.

Carr is the 53rd prospect, 11th wide receiver and ninth recruit in Georgia according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Georgia received the only official visit from Carr in June. Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee have all received unofficial visits from Carr.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U reported that there are plans for Carr to schedule a visit with the Miami football program. Carr took his most recent visit to Tennessee this past weekend. Getting Carr down to Miami for a visit would be significant for the Hurricanes. Miami has two blue-chip WRs committed for 2024.

Consensus five-star WR Joshisa Trader is the highest-ranked 2024 Miami commit. Chance Robinson is the sixth highest-rated commit in the 2024 Miami class. Alex Donno of All Hurricanes quoted Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports in a summary of Carr and discussed the recruitment on his Locked on Canes podcast on Monday.

“One source with knowledge of the recruitment believes that Miami is the program to beat moving forward — Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes have been making a strong push behind the scenes, and Carr likes the direction of the program.

Carr thanked Woodiel on his Twitter account for the visit on Monday. The original commitment by Carr to Georgia lasted just over two months. Carr committed to the Bulldogs on July 5 and de-committed from Georgia last week. Wilftong reported that Carr likes the direction of the Miami football program.

Auburn and Florida State are programs to watch for Carr according to Wiltfong. Florida State has a commitment from Carr’s teammate, Landen Thomas who is the consensus number one tight end in the 2024 class. Moultrie Colquitt County has numerous top prospects in the 2024 class.

The Miami offense performing at a high level through the first four games of the season has clearly made an impact on Carr and other prospects. Miami could potentially flip commitment prospects who were skeptical about the Hurricanes’ offense earlier in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
