Lure Fishbar closes at upscale Loew’s Miami Beach Hotel

Lure Fishbar, the upscale restaurant at the Loew’s Miami Beach Hotel, has served its final seafood tower.

The luxury seafood restaurant, which also has locations in New York and Chicago, completed its final service on May 13, according to a Loew’s representative.

Replacing Lure Fishbar at the Loews, which is located at 1600 Collins Ave., is Rao’s, the Italian restaurant from East Harlem, New York, famous for drawing celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese — and hours-long lines for one of its coveted 10 tables.

Opened in 1896, Rao’s (pronounced RAY-ohs) is considered one of the toughest reservations to get in the United States.

Fortunately, the Miami Beach Rao’s, which is expected to open sometime this fall, will be larger than its parent restaurant, though no design details have been released yet.

This will be the third Rao’s location (there’s also one in Los Angeles). A Las Vegas location closed in 2011.
