Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Robert Gauthreaux III said snow is expected to move across the region beginning around 7 a.m.

Temperatures were falling Friday night, he said.

That fact and the prospect of snow have some more excited than others.

“I am one-thousand percent ready for the cold,” Lizzy Lenahan, of Dayton, told News Center 7′s Molly Koweek.

Charlene Murphy, of Kettering, said, “I just feel better in cold weather.”

But Dayton resident Mia Maroto said, “I just hate the cold.”

One, AJ Abshear, thought it already was too cold Friday night.

“And it gets more colder, like I will freeze to death,” the South Charleston resident said.

Saturday’s snow will not be major in terms of an amount, but some are anticipating a growing happiness as the seasons change.

“I have joy knowing that other people like snow,” said Kayla Lenahan, of Dayton.

Just mentioning the word “snow” triggers lots of thoughts about how to cope.

“I’m thinking about starting to get bags of salt,” Maroto said.

Lizzy Lenahan said she’s ready to get out her heavy wear.

“I have a ton of Christmas sweaters i’m excited to wear, I’m excited to wear sweatpants, I’m excited to wear layers,” she said.

Abshear’s thoughts turn to fun: “I just like to make snow angels and have snowball fights,”

Snow and cold bring some challenges, such as road conditions.

Ohio Department of Transportation officials are telling News Center 7 that Saturday’s snow is not likely to accumulate because pavement temperatures are still warm.
