Miami’ star Eva LaRue for over a decade

An Ohio man who stalked “CSI: Miami” star Eva LaRue for more than a decade — even once vowing to stalk her “until the day you die” — has been sentenced to more than three years in prison.

The 40-month sentence of creep James David Rogers was handed down Thursday after the 58-year-old had menaced LaRue and her family for over 12 years until he was arrested in 2019, prosecutors said.

His disturbing campaign of harassment — in which he threatened to torture, rape and kill both LaRue and her daughter — began in March 2007.

Rogers sent about 37 letters to the 55-year-old “All My Children” actress and her daughter, including one that told LaRue, “I am going to…stalk you until the day you die.”

In other notes he told LaRue that he wanted to rape her and her daughter, who was five when the sick campaign began, prosecutors said.

He signed each letter using the name of horror villain “Freddy Krueger” of the movie series “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

Another unsettling letter to LaRue’s daughter in June 2015 stated in part “I am the man who has been stalking for the last 7 years. Now I have my eye on you too.”

In October and November of 2019, just before he was arrested, Rogers even called the school where LaRue’s daughter went and claimed to be her father, inquiring if she was in classes that day, the feds said.

In one voicemail left at the school, he threatened to “rape her, molest her, and kill her” while saying he was “Freddy Krueger.”

Along with the prison sentence, he will also serve three years of probation, according to NBC News.

LaRue told NBC she and her daughter can breathe a “massive sigh of relief” following the sentencing.

“We feel like, finally, we know where he is,” she said. “We know that for the next six years we will be able to breathe a massive sigh of relief and feel like we’re not looking over our shoulder constantly.”

LaRue also described the letters to the news outlet as “next level heinous evil.” She said he would he threaten to “slowly dismember my daughter in front of me after raping her and torturing her.”

Prosecutors with the US Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California wrote in a sentencing memo that LaRue and her child were impacted daily by Rogers’ frightening behavior.

“[LaRue and her daughter] moved numerous times in hopes that [Rogers] would not find them again,” prosecutors wrote.

“They drove circuitous routes home, slept with weapons nearby and had discussions about how to seek help quickly if [Rogers] found them and tried to harm them.

“They tried to anonymize their addresses as much as possible by avoiding receiving mail and packages at their actual address. To no avail. Each time they moved, [Rogers’] letters – and the victims’ terror – would always follow. And [Rogers] knew it.”

Rogers pleaded guilty in April to five criminal counts that included mailing threatening communications, threats by interstate communication and stalking.
