The Red Bulls are keeping up with the top of the pack in the East coming into Saturday. After their big 4-1 win over D.C. United two weeks ago, New York is tied with CF Montreal for third in the conference with 23 points, just three back of their rivals and East leaders, New York City FC. They also sit tied for seventh in the Supporter’s Shield standings, six back of a really strong Los Angeles FC squad. The Red Bulls have lost just one of their last eight matches, going 2-1-4 in that span. They are going to try and win their first match of enemy soil in MLS action since beating Orlando City in late-April.

After some growing pains in the club’s inaugural season, Charlotte has shown signs of improvement, and have put themselves right in the playoff conversation as a result. Despite dropping a tough 2-1 decision against the Seattle Sounders in their last match, Charlotte is eighth in the East with 16 points. Just two back of Inter Miami, who hold the last playoff position. The new kids on the block have won two of their last four contests, including hard-fought wins at home against Miami and the Vancouver Whitecaps. At home this season, Charlotte has won five of their first seven matches.

Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
