One of the best teams in NCAA Women’s Basketball in the early stages of the 2021-22 season looks to keep their hot start going, as the North Carolina State Wolfpack take on the Miami Hurrcianes on Sunday afternoon.
This game was thrown together after the Wolfpack’s original opponent, Notre Dame, had to pull out due to COVID.

After falling to no. 1 South Carolina to open their season, NC State has been almost unstoppable this season. They reeled off 10-straight before falling to Georgia in their last inter-conference game of the season. In ACC action, the Wolfpack have set the pace, starting off conference action 4-0, including a dominating win over in-state rival North Carolina this past Thursday. Raina Perez and Jakia Brown-Turner have led the offense in the early-going, with Perez leading the Wolfpack with an average of 27.7 points-per-game.
The Hurricanes have had an up-and-down season so far, especially with a number of postponed games themselves. Heading into Sunday, they have only played once in 2022, and only five times since the beginning of December. Their lone conference game was against Wake Forest last Thursday, where the Demon Deacons squeaked out a 47-46 win. The Canes have been solid at home this season, coming into Sunday with a 7-1 record in Coral Gables.
