Monthly Miami Indian Heritage Days series continues Saturday with finger weaving
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The July installment of the monthly Miami Indian Heritage Days series continues Saturday, with a finger weaving demonstration by Claudia Hedeen.
The event will be held at the National Historic Landmark Chief Richardville House in Fort Wayne, the oldest Native American structure in the Midwest.
In addition to the finger weaving demonstration, attendees will learn about the heritage of the Maimi and other Native American groups. Local performers and artists will be featured as well, and a guided tour of the house will be included with admission.
The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for children and seniors and free for children aged two and under and Fort Wayne History Center members. Miami Indian Heritage Days occur on the first Saturday of every month.
