Coconut Grove’s The Key Club Closes
Miami’s wave of restaurant closures continues with the Key Club shuttering this weekend. Groot Hospitality’s American-focused restaurant in Coconut Grove will close its doors Saturday, June 29, due to the sale of the building it occupies.
Reps for the restaurant confirmed the news, stating that while the Groot Hospitality team loved the Coconut Grove neighborhood, the sale of the restaurant space prompted the closure. Groot Hospitality continues to operate several other hotspots in Miami, including Gekko, Swan, Komodo, Papi Steak, and Casadonna.
This closure is one of many the city has seen in recent months, happening well before the height of Miami’s dreaded ‘slow season.” Recent closures include Eater 38 members Leku and Stanzione 87, alongside Beaker & Gray, Icebox Cafe, Joliet, and others.
