Miami

Picks, odds and TV info

No. 9 North Carolina looks to maintain sole possession of first place in the ACC as they host Miami. The Hurricanes gave the Tar Heels a run for their money just a few weeks ago. Miami’s Norchad Omier and Nijel Pack each put up 20 points, but even that was not enough to overcome RJ Davis’ 25 points or Tar Heel forward Armando Bacot’s double-double. UNC came away with a 75-72 win.

Now, UNC hosts the Hurricanes, and there is extra motivation for North Carolina to win given that they can secure an ACC title if they win out. The Tar Heels still have one game left on their schedule against Duke as well, so they’ll need every win they can get if they want to hold onto first place.

Predictions for Miami vs. North Carolina:

Yahoo Sports: UNC 102, Miami 77

Aidan Jensen writes, “Plain and simple – UNC has to shoot the ball better.

Miami has the ability to dig teams in a deep hole, as it can get out and run in transition at any given moment. The Hurricanes have a deep scoring rotation, with four players averaging double-digits, led by 17.1 points per game from Norchad Omier.

The Tar Heels shot a subpar 32 percent from the field on Saturday, but luckily, UVA shot even worse at 27.6 percent. If North Carolina had been playing another up-tempo team like Duke, there’s a chance the mood in Chapel Hill could be a soggy one today.”

WDTV: North Carolina 82, Miami (FL) 69

WDTV really likes the Tar Heels in this one given their stellar 16-10 record ATS compared to Miami’s 11-14 record ATS. The Hurricanes have lost six games in a row, and seeing as how they were unable to defeat UNC when Miami was at home a few weeks ago, a road contest does not bode well for their losing streak. Expect them to drop their seventh consecutive contest.
