Tyler Van Dyke was 23/36 passing for 290 yards and 2 touchdowns. Henry Parrish, Jr. had 111 yards on the ground on 11 carries with 2 touchdowns. Xavier Restrepo led Miami with 6 catches for 117 yards.
The Canes found themselves in a quick 7-0 hole after a Kyle Robichaux 1-yard run to cap a 75-yard drive.
From there, it was all Canes.
Miami scored touchdowns on 4 of their 5 drives of the first half. Mark Fletcher, Jr. bowled in from a yard out to tie the game at seven. On their next drive, Parrish broke loose for a 15-yard touchdown to push Miami in front 14-7.
The Canes’ offense followed up two more Boston College punts with touchdowns. Van Dyke found Colbie Young for a 10-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 21-7. Henry Parrish Jr. scored on the Canes’ final drive of the half from 2 yards out to send Miami to the locker room up 28-7.
The Canes had a bit of a hiccup to start the second half, as a fumbled QB-RB exchange on a handoff was recovered by Boston College. The Eagles made the Canes pay, marching 51 yards for a touchdown on a 21-yard scamper to the end zone by QB Thomas Castellanos.
After a holding penalty forced the Canes to start at their own 8-yard line, the Canes were in a somewhat tenuous spot. However, once again, the offense proved to be up to the challenge. Miami marched 92 yards in 11 plays to push the lead to 35-14. The key play came on 4th and 4 from the BC 33-yard line. Van Dyke lobbed a deep ball, and Restrepo laid out to make the grab inside the BC five. Jacolby George had an easy 4-yard touchdown catch, and the Canes were in total control again late in the third quarter.
Boston College drew to within 38-20 on a 2-yard touchdown catch by Lewis Bell, but Miami emphatically slammed the door when Ajay Allen broke free for a 30-yard touchdown in the game’s final two minutes.
