How to Watch Atlanta United vs. New England Revolution – MLS (5/31/23)

The Revolution are doing their part in erasing the incredible disappointment that was last season. The club that is two years removed from setting the record for most points in MLS history ended up finishing 10th in the East. A rejuvenated club with a new focus had a great start to this campaign, winning seven of their first 11 matches. However, since falling to USL Championship squad, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, in the Round of 32 in this year’s U.S. Open Cup, New England has gone winless in their last three contests, losing to both Inter Miami and the Philadelphia Revolution, before a wild 3-3 draw with the Chicago Fire last Saturday. Still, the Revs are third in the conference with 25 points, eight back of FC Cincinnati.

Atlanta is hanging right around the middle of the East coming into Wednesday, having drawn with both the Fire and Orlando City in consecutive contests. Unfortunately, grabbing three points in matches has become difficult for ATL, as they have been victorious in just one of their six matchups, going 1-3-2 over that span. They have fallen back to fifth in the conference, two points back of the Revolution, and 10 back of Cincy.

Since Atlanta joined the league in 2017, they hold a 5-3-3 record over New England, though the Revs beat and drew with United last season.
