Countdown to Kickoff: Miami Warriors

MIAMI, Texas (KFDA) – The Miami Warriors are ready to hit the gridiron again for the 2025 football season.

Football season is back for Miami, and there is only way to describe that feeling.

“Waking up in the morning just feels like magic,” says senior Kristopher Gorecki.

It’s not just the players that feel like that.

“I think everybody gets excited for football season here in Texas,” says head coach Paul Hale. “These guys did everything for us, all the sports year round, but most of our guys are football guys.”

“There’s that buzz once we hit the summer and then they’re able to hit the weights even more and they just know that football is on the horizon and it gets you excited because it’s contagious.”

The Warriors finished 6-4 last season, going out in the bi-district round, and they’re ready for another playoff push.

“It’s exciting,” says senior Jack Kotara. “All this work that we put in over the summer, all the heat, all the weights… it’s time to get it rolling.”

It’s not just what they get to do, it’s also where that makes it special.

“I get to wake up every morning, get to come see this beautiful view out here,” says Gorecki. “Nowhere in the world do you get to wake up and meet people and see people as great as people from Miami.”

It won’t be long until the Warriors take the field, but in order to achieve success — you have to believe it first.

“We have this one last drill where we spell out W.A.R.R.I.O.R.S. and [you] kind of got to believe in it to put work into it,” says Kotara.
