How many games will the Miami Dolphins win in 2024?

The Miami Dolphins will be a new-look team in 2024. That much, we know.

This offseason, the Dolphins’ roster underwent major changes, with multiple key players departing in free agency. However, the Dolphins were quick to bring in replacements, and spent a hefty sum doing so.

Notable Exits:

Notable Additions:

  • LB Jordyn Brooks ($26.25 million)
  • C Aaron Brewer ($21 million)
  • CB Kendall Fuller ($16.5 million)
  • S Jordan Poyer ($12.5 million)
  • LB Shaq Barrett ($9 million)
  • TE Jonnu Smith ($8.5 million)
  • WR Odell Beckham Jr. ($8.25 million)

With all that being said, will the Dolphins actually be any good? Will these changes make the team better or worse?

Well, Vegas says the Dolphins are smack dab in the middle.

As per Draft Kings Sportsbook, Miami’s win total for 2024 is set at 9.5, the exact same as last season. It’s worth noting that the Dolphins exceeded their expected win total in 2023, finishing at a strong 11-6. A line of 9.5 is the 5th-highest in the AFC, meaning Vegas experts predict the Dolphins will make the playoffs for the 3rd-consecutive season, as the No. 5, No. 6, or No. 7 seed in the AFC. The full list of projected win totals for every NFL team is below.

  • 11.5: BAL, KC, SF
  • 10.5: BUF, CIN, DAL, DET, PHI
  • 9.5: ATL, GB, HOU, MIA, NYJ
  • 8.5: CHI, CLE, IND, JAX, LAC, LAR
  • 7.5: MIN, NO, PIT, SEA, TB
  • 6.5: AZ, LVR, NYG, TEN, WAS
  • 5.5: CAR, DEN, NE

The 2024 NFL schedule hasn’t been released yet (Wednesday, May 15th), but we do know who Miami will face home and away:

Home Opponents:

Road Opponents:

Looking at strength of schedule, the Dolphins have the 8th-easiest schedule in the NFL, with an opponent win percentage of .488. At first glance, it does seem like the Dolphins have an easier schedule at home, but have to run through the gauntlet on the road. It’s early days, and a lot can happen from now until September, but I see 10 wins for the Dolphins next season.

Whether that’s enough to make the playoffs, or even win the division, is a story for another day.

How many games do you think the Dolphins will win next season? Will they win the division? Will they drop off from last season? Let us know in the comments below!
