How Do We Change The Miami Dolphins Logo/Uniforms Edition

Ever since the newest version of the Miami Dolphins logo was revealed and then actually put into use, it seems as if the fan base has been clamoring to go back to something more traditional. In more recent years, the fans have seemed to lean towards the version of the logo and uniforms the team rolls out a couple of times each season as their “throwback” uniforms. Despite the opinion that seems to be held by the vast majority of the Dolphins fans that the throwback version should be the full-time logo, the team and, more specifically, the team’s owner, Stephen Ross, seem unwilling to make it happen.

Ross’s stance seems like stubbornness, and there is no doubt that stubbornness was part of the equation and one of his personal traits that made him a billionaire. There is also the fact that he did not get where he is by ignoring his customers. Even a real estate developer has someone that he must please to make things happen and, in turn, make a lot of money. So the question is, why is he now ignoring what are his customers, aka the fans when it comes to his pro sports franchise? Maybe he’s considering it, but I saw a quote from Dan Marino stating that Ross would never change the logo.

The one thing that seems to be true about any business or business owner is that no matter how often they say they won’t change something if there is enough outside pressure, they eventually cave. Sometimes, I see someone cave when I think they should have stood their ground, but this is not one of them. There is nothing political or controversial about the team returning to a more historic logo. It’s the desire of the vast majority of the fans.

So my question is, how do we, as a fan base, start to apply enough pressure on the owner to consider and then eventually revert to the classic logo? Could some grassroots effort be started, such as an online petition? Do you have any other ideas, or are we stuck until Ross hands the team over to his daughter?
