Woman shot; boyfriend takes his life in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Wednesday morning.

The shooting was reported at a home in the 11200 block of Southwest 30th Street.

According to Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, who is also a spokesman for the police department, officers arrived at the home to find a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and his girlfriend also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He did not clarify whether or not the boyfriend is believed to have killed his girlfriend.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead at the scene.

First responders transported the woman to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in stable condition.

No other details were immediately released.
