Fire erupts at single-story home in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A single-story home erupted in flames Thursday morning in southwest Miami-Dade, first responders confirmed.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the fire was reported just after 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 11900 block of Southwest 45th Street.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

MDFR officials said crews quickly extinguished the fire, but remained at the scene to monitor for hotspots.

No injuries were reported and one family pet was rescued from the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
