MATCH PREVIEW: Inter Miami CF Host Real Salt Lake for 2024 MLS Home Opener

Additionally, the 2024 season will see the capacity of Inter Miami’s home ground increased to 21,500 with brand new seating section in the Southwest corner and increased capacity in the Northeast and Southeast corners being incorporated into the stadium.

Inter Miami bolstered its squad this offseason ahead of the team’s 2024 campaign, headlined by the signing of UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and Conmebol Copa América winner and five-time LaLiga champion Luis Suárez. The Club also signed reigning MLS Cup champion and versatile U.S. Men’s National Team player Julian Gressel. The midfielder, who can also play as a fullback, joined the Club after winning his second MLS Cup, having won his first with Atlanta United, managed by head coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino in 2018.

Additionally, Inter Miami signed two Academy graduates, Israel Boatwright and Tyler Hall, as Homegrown Players. The defenders became the eighth and ninth Inter Miami CF Academy products to sign for the First Team in Club history. Lastly, Argentine defender Nicolás Freire was signed on loan from LIGA MX side Pumas UNAM. The center back provides the Club with an additional experienced option in defense after playing the first half of the 2023-24 season with Greek Super League side Olympiacos C.F.

The team’s 2024 home opener will matchup Inter Miami against a new foe, as the meeting will be the first in Club history with Real Salt Lake.

After finishing fifth in the Western Conference in the 2023 regular season being knocked out by the Houston Dynamo in the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, Real Salt Lake will kick off their 2024 campaign visiting South Florida for the first time. During the offseason RSL made few signings, with Greek defender Alexandros Katranis being their main signing.
