Ireland, Irish, Miami and Clemson

Florida State’s 2024 football schedule — announced Wednesday — looks like one of the most interesting in program history. The Seminoles begin in Ireland, face the Fighting Irish and are the first ACC opponent for new members Cal and SMU.

Parts of FSU’s schedule have been known for years, starting with an Aug. 24 game against Georgia Tech in Ireland. The Seminoles agreed to the international Week 0 contest because it provides more exposure and adds an extra open date for later in the season. Georgia Tech is the designated home team, so FSU does not give up a game at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The Seminoles travel to Notre Dame on Nov. 9; FSU hasn’t won there since 2003. FSU’s non-conference schedule also includes a Sept. 14 home game against Memphis — coach Mike Norvell’s former school — and the traditional finale against the Gators.

The conference headliners are still Clemson and Miami, with both games in October. FSU hosts the Tigers on Oct. 5 and plays at Miami on the 26th.

FSU hosts Cal on Sept. 21 in the Golden Bears’ ACC opener. The next week, the ’Noles travel to SMU for their debut in the conference. Both are joining the ACC this season, with Cal coming from the Pac-12 and SMU coming from the AAC.
