Memphis Grizzlies at Miami Heat odds, picks and predictions

The Memphis Grizzlies (16-27) take on the Miami Heat (24-19) Wednesday with tip-off from Kaseya Center set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Grizzlies vs. Heat odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Heat lead 1-0

The Grizzlies continue to battle, despite being without star G Ja Morant (shoulder) for the rest of the season. Now, they’re without G Desmond Bane (ankle) and G Marcus Smart (finger). Memphis is 5-5 over the last 10 games and took down the Toronto Raptors 108-100 as 6.5-point dogs Monday. PF Jaren Jackson Jr. has stepped his game up with 29.7 PPG over the last 3 games.

The Heat are bringing anything but that of late as they’re on a 3-game losing streak. They fell 105-87 to the Orlando Magic Sunday. F Jimmy Butler has been wildly inconsistent, and you have to wonder if the injuries he has battled are taking a toll this season. His last 5 games, he has scored: 8, 31, 16, 25 and 15.

The Heat took down the Grizzlies 108-102 Nov. 8, covering as 2-point favorites.

Grizzlies at Heat and predictions

Prediction

Heat 106, Grizzlies 100

Moneyline

The Heat are 12-8 straight up at home this year. The Grizzlies are strangely 12-12 on the road when they have just 16 wins on the season. I give the Grizzlies a chance to win this game because of the inconsistency of Miami, but JJJ is going to have to go off. I’ll avoid the ML here and take JAREN JACKSON JR. OVER 24.5 POINTS (-125). Not only is he averaging nearly 30 in his last 4, he posted 28 against Miami earlier this season.

Against the spread

The Heat are 8-12 ATS at home this season, and the Grizzlies are 13-11 ATS on the road. Even when the Heat win, they’re not doing it by 10 with just 1 double-digit victory in their last 10 games.

Take the GRIZZLIES +9.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Grizzlies are 5-5 O/U over the last 10, and Miami just 2-8. The previous meeting had 210. Both teams struggle to score as Memphis is 29th, and Miami is 26th in the NBA in PPG. It’s a small, dicey number, but I will LEAN UNDER 212.5 (-110).
