Miami Dolphins expected to be without two offensive stars vs. Buffalo Bills (report)

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly going to be without two of their offensive stars on Sunday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.

It was reportedly by Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport early on Sunday morning that the Dolphins are not likely to have wide receiver Jaylen Waddle or Raheem Mostert available for the game.

“Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) and WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) — both listed as questionable — are not expected to play Sunday night vs. the Bills, per me and Ian Rapoport,” Pelissero wrote on Twitter. “Both should be ready for the playoffs. But Miami will try to win the AFC East without them.”

Although the No. 2 seed in the AFC is on the line in the game, Miami is taking the smart approach by holding out their two stars as the Dolphins have already clinched a playoff berth.

Mostert has been a touchdown machine for the Dolphins in 2023. The veteran back has found the end zone 21 times for Miami this season. Waddle, the team’s 1B at wide receiver to Tyreek Hill, logged his third consecutive 1,000 yard season on a 72-1,014-4 stat line.

Miami will also be without some star power on the defensive side of the ball. Cornerback Xavien Howard (foot) and linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee) were ruled out ahead of Sunday’s game. Safety Jevon Holland will be another player to watch as he was downgraded to questionable (knees) on Saturday.

Despite being down several players, Miami is still a dangerous team with Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Devon Achane leading the way on offense and the likes of Christian Wilkins and Jalen Ramsey on defense.
