When we last saw the game plan for former NFL All-Pro tight end Jeremy Shockey‘s luxury home in Miami, the year was 2020. His place was listed for $4 million—or available to lease for $20,000 a month.

Apparently, Shockey scored by hanging onto the home and renting it out. Now his tenant’s lease is up, and the modern home is back on the market—this time, for $6.5 million. The former Giant would also accept a renter with a budget of $45,000 a month—more than double the previous price.

It seems the two-time Super Bowl champ knows a lot more than football—especially since he purchased this pretty residence back in 2015 for $1.75 million.

A smaller home was built on the property back in 1938; but it was demolished, and this gleaming new one was built in its place. Ideal for the privacy seeker, the new home is surrounded by a wall and mature foliage, including stately bamboo. The place is accessible only via secure, electronic gates.

The 3,916-square-foot home features 5.5 bathrooms and five bedrooms, all of which enjoy access to a covered balcony with lush, green views. The dreamy sleeping spaces also have floor-to-ceiling windows and doors for plentiful natural light.

Naturally, the primary suite offers top-tier luxury, with its massive, walk-in closet; private balcony; and glorious, marble bathroom with a tub.

Although the home features beaucoup luxuries, there’s also a lot of value in its location. Situated on an elevated, 9,750-square-foot lot, it overlooks the fifth hole on the Miami Beach Golf Course and is a short drive from Miami’s famous beaches, restaurants, shops, and resorts.

Shockey, 48, last saw NFL action with the Carolina Panthers in 2011. After graduating from the University of Miami, he had a 10-year pro career, which included catching 547 passes and winning Super Bowl rings in 2007 with the New York Giants and in 2009 with the New Orleans Saints. His social media accounts reveal that he is now a life coach, still lives in Miami, and supports hurricane-relief efforts in the area.
