Landscaper shot in northwest Miami-Dade; 2 detained

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police responded to reports of a shooting that they said left a landscaper hospitalized in northwest Miami-Dade Friday afternoon.

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 1 p.m. where multiple police officers were seen putting up caution tape near the 1500 block of Northwest 79th Street, in the county’s Gladeview area.

A Miami-Dade police spokesperson told Local 10 News that workers were cutting grass and blowing leaves when nearby homeowners told them to stop working in their area, which led to an argument.

Authorities said during the confrontation, one of the homeowners pulled out a gun and shot one of the workers.

The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition and two people were detained at the scene following the incident, according to police.

Police have not identified the victim’s age or gender at this time.
