1 person hospitalized, pilot receives CPR after helicopter lands in canal in SW Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

Emergency crews responded to an incident involving a helicopter that landed in a canal in Southwest Miami-Dade.

The incident happened in an area near southwest 184th avenue and 122nd Street and officials confirmed the helicopter flew from Fort Myers.

NBC6 chopper aerials shows what appeared to be fuel in the water. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue divers were seen searching the water near the streak of fuel.

According to Miami-Dade Police, one person was recovered and taken to a local hospital out of precaution. The pilot was being given CPR.
