Where will Lionel Messi play in 2024? Cities, stadiums Inter Miami visit on road MLS schedule for new season

With Lionel Messi set to embark on his first full season with Inter Miami, fans across the United States will be clamoring to see when the Argentine superstar will visit their city in 2024.

Messi is fresh off his triumph in the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina, en route to winning the eighth Ballon d’Or of his illustrious career.

Messi’s arrival inspired Inter Miami to the 2023 Leagues Cup title and brought the club close to qualification for the MLS postseason last year – but they fell just short. They will be gunning for a playoff spot in 2024, hoping that a full year of Messi’s influence can help drive Tata Martino’s team forward.

More popular than ever, Messi has already seen Inter Miami sell out their season ticket allotment for 2024 despite a massive price hike, which has caused controversy amongst the club’s supporter base. Now, fans across the country can look to see when Messi will play in their area, hoping for a chance to see the 35-year-old all-time great take the field.

Inter Miami home stadium for 2024 MLS season

For their home matches through the 2024 campaign, Inter Miami will once again play at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

DRV PNK Stadium is a temporary home with a capacity of around 21,000, situated about 35 miles from downtown Miami, around a 45 minute drive depending on traffic. Opened in 2020, the venue is only expected to regularly host Inter Miami matches for one more season.

Inter Miami’s new permanent home at Miami Freedom Park is expected to open in 2025, with construction continuing since breaking ground temporarily in August of 2023. It is located directly next to the Miami International Airport on the old site of the Melreese Country Club golf course, and will have an expected capacity of around 25,000 seats.

How to watch Inter Miami in 2024 MLS season

Last season, Major League Soccer kicked off a 10-year broadcast rights deal with Apple that sees every single match for the next decade streamed exclusively on Apple’s streaming platform.

Apple TV is the official home of the MLS regular season and playoffs, with every match for every team available to stream around the world with no blackouts. Some select games each week are made free to air, while the rest of the fixture list is for subscribers only.

The streaming service, dubbed MLS Season Pass, will be available for all fans to purchase at a set, season-long price, and it is available at a discounted rate for Apple TV+ subscribers. Select matches will also be available to watch for free every week.

MLS Season Pass is separate from Apple TV+, meaning those with Apple TV+ would still need an MLS Season Pass subscription to access the complete slate of games, while those without Apple TV+ can still sign up for MLS Season Pass without needing a full Apple TV+ subscription.
