Lionel Messi remains one of the best players in the world – and he understandably still has the pay packet to reflect that.

The 36-year-old lifted the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain before he confirmed a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami in June.

Messi then won the Ballon d’Or award for a record eighth time in November and is enjoying the tail end of an incredible career in MLS.

Lionel Messi net worth

Messi’s net worth is estimated to be around £105million at the start of 2023, according to Forbes.

However, that has since been increased even further since his move to Miami, with the forward said to be on around £35m / £47m a year.

Messi’s MLS contract is a huge financial increase from the £94m he collected in wages over his three-year contract at PSG.

He remains the second-highest-paid footballer in the world, following rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s megabucks at Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.

Messi largely amasses his fortune via his football salary but his status as one of the best has also led to an array of brand deals.

The former Barcelona captain has a long list of lucrative endorsements, including Lay’s crisps, Budweiser and Pepsi.

Messi also signed a lifetime contract with Adidas in 2017, who have supplied his boots since 2006 after swaying him away from Nike.

The deal, which will see Messi don the company’s apparel for the rest of his career, is thought to be worth around $25m per year a year.

The Argentina skipper has branched into over ventures as well, releasing his clothing label designed by Tommy Hilfiger’s sister Virginia.

In addition, he has a growing property portfolio with hotels in Ibiza, Mallorca, Baqueira and Sotogrande.
