Instant Analysis, Miami 20, Las Vegas 13

Quick thoughts from South Florida Sun Sentinel staffers on the Miami Dolphins’ win over the Las Vegas Raiders at Hard Rock Stadium:

Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist

It was a squeaker, a little closer than it should have been. But it’s a victory that showed some fortitude in the face of less-than-desirable performances by some key players. Thankfully, Jalen Ramsey was there to help save the day.

David Furones, Dolphins Writer

Not the way you want to start the second-half stretch out of the bye if you’re the Dolphins. But you take wins however you can get them in the NFL. Can’t turn the ball over like Miami did to keep a hungry Raiders team close, but the defense stepped up for key stops late. Now, you hope De’Von Achane is able to come back.

Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor

The Dolphins at 7-3 and in great position, bottom line. But things have gotten more difficult for Miami, with its bye in the rearview mirror. But, this defense? It will travel. It has been dominant in stretches.

Steve Svekis, Sports Senior Content Editor

A win is a win is a win. But it is of concern that the Dolphins have been tied or trailing entering the second quarter in each of the past five games. Another blinking red light is the mounting injuries. Tua Tagovailoa was rocked on the final play of the first half, ran to the locker room with his left arm down at his side, and didn’t look as sharp in the second half. But, 7-3 is fantastic. Bottom line.
