Herbstreit Gives Thoughts on Important Clemson-Miami Game

Clemson (4-2, 2-2 ACC) and Miami (4-2, 0-2) are set to square off tonight at Hard Rock Stadium.

During ESPN’s College GameDay, host Rece Davis brought up the importance of the ACC clash between the Tigers and Canes.

“I want you to take special note, really important game for Clemson and Miami,” Davis said. “Dabo wants the bandwagon thinned out a little bit. Really big for both of those teams.”

“And they gotta get fired up,” added Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN’s lead college football analyst.

Herbstreit pointed out that Clemson has beaten Miami the last four times the two teams have played – by an average of a whopping 37 points.

“(Miami quarterback) Tyler Van Dyke’s going to have to play well,” Herbstreit continued. “As much as you want to talk about Clemson being off the radar a bit, they still play championship defense, and I think that’ll lead them today.”

“And they’re favored by three on the road,” College GameDay analyst Pat McAfee chimed in.

“That offense has scuffled,” Davis added regarding the Tigers.

Kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium is set for 8 p.m. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
