SRS Real Estate Partners has expanded its industrial services business to Miami with the addition of Wayne Schuchts, who will lead the brokerage’s industrial practice in Florida, Andrew Lehrer and Michael Palmer. The new SRS team will represent owners, tenants and investors of industrial property throughout the state. Schuchts, who has more than three decades of commercial real estate experience, previously was a partner at Avison Young, joined the firm as a managing principal. He worked with SRS industrial managing partner Brent Landry when both were at The Staubach Co., now part of JLL. An industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience, Lehrer joins SRS as a vice president on the industrial team. He previously worked at Flagler Global Logistics. Palmer, who has seven years of commercial real estate experience, also is a vice president on SRS’s industrial team. He previously worked with Schuchts at Avison Young.

SRS is growing the industrial team it formed last year. In September, SRS added a five-person team from Avison Young in Georgia and market leader in California as the brokerage expands its industrial group from coast to coast. “We have been looking for the right opportunity to enhance our capabilities in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale,” and the Schuchts-led team will help the firm reach that goal, SRS Chairman and CEO Chris Maguire said in a statement.

Trammell Crow Co., or TCC, has tapped industry veteran Megan Kranichfeld to lead the growth of the company’s industrial development business in the Rocky Mountain Region. She joined TCC as a senior vice president in Denver. She previously served as vice president of industrial development at Prime West Development, where she was responsible for leading the company’s expansion into industrial development. Before that, she served as vice president of development at United Properties. During her six years at United, Kranichfeld was directly involved in the development of more than 1 million square feet of speculative industrial space, and she facilitated several of the company’s key ground-up developments in Colorado.

“TCC Denver is well-positioned to continue to grow across the Front Range, as well as in Salt Lake City where we have been actively sourcing new development opportunities, and we believe that Megan’s addition will help to accelerate this growth,” Erik Hagevik, principal and TCC Denver market leader, said in a statement.

Alexis Lowell (JLL)

JLL has picked Alexis Lowell, who’s been at the brokerage since August 2021, to serve as market lead for JLL’s project and development services, or PDS, division in Arizona and Nevada. In her new role, Lowell will oversee a team that specializes in workplace strategy, project management, design and construction management and related services for clients. While working to identify new PDS opportunities in Arizona and Nevada markets, Lowell will also continue in her role as JLL’s West region workplace practice lead. Lowell, who has more than a decade of industry experience, worked at construction firm Katerra before joining JLL. Lowell’s experience and work in the industry position her well to expand JLL’s PDS business in Arizona and Nevada, said Julie Hyson, a managing director and West division.

Mike Roberts (PGIM Real Estate)

PGIM Real Estate said Mike McRoberts, the investment firm’s head of agency lending, has decided to retire on March 31, 2024. McRoberts joined PGIM Real Estate in 2011. The company said he “has been instrumental in transforming the business” into a large multifamily operation. PGIM Real Estate said that under McRobert’s leadership, its servicing portfolio has grown to nearly $45 billion. The firm has promoted Kelly Follain to replace McRoberts as head of agency lending effective Jan. 1. Follain currently serves as chief operating officer of PGIM Real Estate’s agency lending business. Follain has 25 years of experience in the industry. Before she joined PGIM Real Estate in 2016, Follain served a vice president of underwriting and credit at Freddie Mac. PGIM’s agency lending business “is a critical element of PGIM Real Estate’s debt offering,” Bryan McDonnell, head of U.S. debt and chair of global debt, said in a statement.

Tom Berry (Newmark)

Newmark has hired broker Tom Berry as a managing director specializing in the acquisition and disposition of golf resorts, golf and country clubs, and master-planned golf communities across the country. Berry, who’s based in San Diego and previously was a member of CBRE’s golf and resort group, is part of the capital markets group at Newmark. He has nearly a decade of experience in the industry and has been involved in more than $600 million of transactions. Chad Lavender, Newmark president of U.S. capital markets, said the addition of Berry adds another area of alternative assets to its capital markets group. The brokerage recently has been focused on expanding its work in emerging and alternative asset classes.

JLL has hired Steve Markey, who has more than 25 years of experience in tenant representation, retail brokerage and a specialty in hospitality, as a senior vice president in its retail division. Markey started his commercial real estate career as a retail broker at CBRE in 1997 after a decade practicing law. He later joined David, Hicks & Lampert Brokerage in 2013. Markey has worked with major retail occupiers including Farmer’s Market, Lucky’s Market, Darden Restaurants, Taco Bell, Kona Grill and KinderCare. Markey’s background complements JLL retail’s existing team and adds experience in tenant representation for local and national firms, said Dan McGowan, managing director and brokerage lead for JLL’s Denver office.

Magnolia Investment Partners has added Charles Warner as a partner and director of retail properties. Leading Nashville, Tennessee-based Magnolia’s retail business operations, Warner will work to expand the firm’s retail portfolio and footprint across the Southeast, said Ben Bonner, Magnolia managing partner. A 20-year industry veteran, Warner most recently served as senior vice president of commercial leasing at Southern Land Company. During his time at SLC, Warner oversaw leasing and management nationally for existing and new developments with a focus on mixed-use properties. Warner said he plans to leverage his relationship to help Magnolia grow. “This business is about more than just transactions; it is about people, our investors and culture along with a shared passion and vision,” Warner said in a statement.

Gibran Begum (NAI Capital)

NAI Capital Commercial has hired industry veteran Gibran Begum as an executive vice president who specializes in tenant representation, landlord consulting and investment sales. In his new role, Gibran will work to grow NAI Capital Commercial’s tenant consulting group and serve clients across greater Los Angeles. Gibran joined Newmark from Newmark, where he worked for more than 13 years and served as a managing partner in its Los Angeles market. Before that, Begum worked for six years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he started his career. “Having worked with Gibran previously further enhanced our desire to add him as an integral member of the Tenant Consulting Group,” Mike Arnold, executive vice president and founder of the tenant consulting group said in a statement. The company said the addition of Begum “marks a significant step forward for the firm” as it grows its presence in greater Los Angeles.
