Jack Owoc Revealed as Buyer in $40M Fort Lauderdale Deal

Jack Owoc, the recently dethroned energy drink mogul, has been revealed as the buyer of a record $40 million oceanfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale.

Public records show Owoc and his wife, Meg Liz Owoc, are the new owners of the 12,700-square-foot mansion at 3052 North Atlantic Boulevard. They bought the newly built home from WeatherTech founder David MacNeil. It’s fully furnished with 100 feet of oceanfront, seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, seven half-bathrooms and a pool.

Tim Elmes of Compass had the listing, and Austin Baris and Alexander Goldstein of Miles Goldstein Real Estate brought the buyer.

Earlier this year, Owoc was ousted from his role as CEO of Bang Energy, the Weston-based energy drink empire he founded and led to meteoric ascent with an aggressive TikTok influencer marketing strategy. Bang’s parent company, Vital Pharmaceuticals, booted Owoc in March. The move came five months after the troubled beverage firm filed Chapter 11, Food Dive reported. Bang was forced to file for bankruptcy after losing a false advertising case brought by Monster Energy that awarded Monster $293 million in damages, according to Reuters. Monster bought Vital Pharmaceuticals for $362 million in July, according to published reports.

Once described as “if Florida was a person” by comedian Morgan Leinwohl, Owoc founded Vital Pharmaceuticals in 1996. He’s known for his trademark loud style, bodybuilder physique, and the gold chain he dons bearing Bang’s logo. After touting a few less successful products, he launched Bang Energy in 2012. The drink’s sales held steady for most of the 2010s –– occupying about 0.5 percent of the energy drink market –– until 2019, when sales tripled to $1.3 billion and Bang’s market share hit 9 percent, Bloomberg reported in a profile of Owoc last year. His estimated net worth soared to $3 billion, according to the outlet.

Owoc’s TikTok marketing had a distinct aesthetic. Bang-sponsored videos featured bodybuilders, comedians and women in bikinis toting neon colored cans of the drink, according to Morning Brew. Owoc and his wife are aspiring family influencers in their own right. The couple runs a YouTube channel called the Owoc Family (rebranded from the Bang Energy Family), that features their five small children and a pregnant Meg Liz Owoc’s breastfeeding tips.

They are longtime Broward County residents. Jack Owoc bought a Southwest Ranches house for $7.7 million in 2019. Built in 2017 on 2.4 acres, it has a pool, a theater and home gym. Baris has the listing for the 13,600-square-foot mansion, Realtor.com shows. The Owocs put the estate on the market for $16.5 million in August, and recently dropped the price to $14.5 million.

Owoc has also been an active player in Broward County’s commercial real estate scene over the years. In July, he sold an industrial development site in Pembroke Pines for $59.8 million.
