Mansion Global Daily: Vancouver’s Listings (and Prices) Are Rising

Vancouver Saw Nearly 30% Increase in New Listings in September, but Prices Keep Rising

Despite an increase in inventory in Vancouver, prices are still on the rise, according to the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. The typical price of a home was C$1.2 million (US$873,486) in September, a 4.4% increase from the same time the previous year. Meanwhile, the number of newly listed homes rose 28.4% year over year. “In contrast to the spring and summer, the September data suggests there may be a renewed interest on the part of sellers to participate in the market, with new listing activity rising back in line with long-term historical averages,” said Andrew Lis, director of economics and data analytics with real estate board. Hong Kong Officials to Limit Land Parcels Sold by Government

The site—a 4.7-acre plot in Cheung Sha in Lantau, New Territories, is expected to yield 110 housing units, Development Secretary Bernadette Linn Hon-ho said. The government set out to raise HK$85 billion (US$10.85 billion) from the sale of 18 parcels and land conversion premiums by March 2024, but has sold only two so far, with the sale prices well below expectations.
