“Obviously, discouraged that we didn’t get the win. When we play these types of games, we’re expecting to come out with a win, but credit to Miami they made it hard. They put a lot of numbers in the box first half. I don’t know if they were credited with a shot in the first half. Second half, late in the game, I think they had a couple attempts, but anytime you get a team that just bunkers in and makes it difficult to break down, it’s hard to score goals. The majority of our goals (this season) were scored with teams that open up and we’re able to get through them, but credit to Miami. Like I said, they packed it in and made it difficult for us.”

The Game

  • In addition to leading the game in shots (18-5), Alabama also paced the competition in shots on goal (9-1) and corner kicks (4-2)
  • The Tide held possession for over 60 percent of the game with the majority of that time spent in the attacking third of the field
  • Nadia Ramadan gave UA its best chance of the night at the 65th minute mark, deflecting a cross off the back post towards net
  • Ramadan’s shot came just shy as the Hurricanes made a goal-line save which set Sydney Japic up for a shot from seven-yards outs
  • Felicia Knox led the team with three shots, putting two on frame
  • The UA defense prevented Miami from taking a shot for over 70 minutes of the game
