Aluminum Exec Selling $23 Million Miami-Area Penthouse—Million-Dollar Art Collection Included

A Miami penthouse owned by an aluminum executive has hit the market for $23 million.

The more than 10,000-square-foot residence—located at the Bjarke Ingels-designed Grove at Grand Bay in the city’s Coconut Grove area—offers views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay and includes more than $1 million worth of art, according to last week’s listing with Chad Carroll with The Carroll Group at Compass.

“This penthouse offers the epitome of quiet luxury,” he said. “The prime water views and timeless design deliver a turnkey luxury lifestyle with access and privacy in one of Coconut Grove’s most coveted buildings.”

Delfin Gibert—who founded Exal, one of the world’s largest producers of aluminum containers—purchased the unit in 2016 for $11 million, according to property records.

Gibert sold Exal in 2010 and founded DG Holding Group the same year. Representatives for the company did not immediately return a request for comment.

Of course, the unit offers walls of glass and an open layout with living and dining areas, plus a wet bar and access to a wraparound terrace. But it’s also being sold fully furnished, and with art by the likes of abstract sculptor Dorit Levinstein; Angelo Accardi, an Italian surrealist; and David Kracov, who creates metal wall sculptures, according to the listing. There’s also high-end furniture and textiles throughout the penthouse.

The kitchen boasts a tiled backsplash, sleek white cabinetry, an island and a breakfast area, plus plenty of storage, listing photos show.

There are six bedroom suites, plus two powder rooms. The “massive” 3,000-square-foot primary bedroom offers two seating areas, a dressing room, a kitchenette, a marble bathroom and a sauna, plus terrace access.

Other amenities include a home theater, an office with water views, a library, an entertainment room and a private elevator, the listing said. The unit also comes with a four-car private garage.

Residents of the building also have use of its two rooftop pools, a fitness center and spa, a club room, a children’s playground, a pet spa, a residents’ lounge and a library.
