Lionel Messi signed with Inter Miami last month, marking one of the largest acquisitions in Major League Soccer (MLS). Following a World Cup win in 2022, the star Argentine player is now here to stay in the United States.

While San Francisco doesn’t have an MLS team for Messi to play against, you can catch the icon in action if you head south. Inter Miami faces off against the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) on Sept. 3, and it’s the closest stadium to the Bay Area that Messi is playing at all season.

Here’s how to get tickets to the SoCal game, and how to tune in if you can’t make in person.

When is Messi playing in LA?

  • When: Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. PDT
  • Where: BMO Stadium, Los Angeles, California
  • TV: MLS Season Pass (streaming on Apple TV+)
  • Radio: ESPN LA 710

MLS Season Pass has exclusive broadcasting rights to the MLS games this season, so you’ll have to get signed up if you want to watch Messi play LAFC. Since it’s already deep into the season, you’ll only have to pay half the regular price for the MLS Season Pass, putting money back in your pocket for the perfect Messi jersey to wear during the games.
