Soccer star Lionel Messi checks out more mansions, most recently in Boca Raton

Soccer superstar Lionel Messi has been hunting for a new home in South Florida, most recently spotted checking out a mansion in Palm Beach County.

Messi was photographed with his family looking at a home in Boca Raton, according to The Mirror, a British daily tabloid newspaper. The home reportedly includes a golf putting green, and “someone could be seen with a club in hand giving the 36-year-old a quick demonstration.”

The latest Messi sighting follows an earlier report by TMZ, which reported Messi was spotted with his wife and children touring a mansion in Fort Lauderdale, right along the Intracoastal Waterway. And he has also has considered homes generally around the West Boca and Delray Beach area, WPBF-Ch. 25 reported, citing information from Messi’s real estate agent.

Messi already owns property in Miami-Dade County.

Brian Pearl, a real estate agent not connected to the Messi search, said it makes sense that the superstar is considering having a home in Palm Beach County.

Pearl guesses likely on Messi’s to-see list: Boca Bridges in western Boca, where pre-construction homes are fetching $3 million to $8 million. “It’s like a country club without the fees, and without the golf course.” Among the appeal for prospective buyers: a gated community, restaurants, swimming pools.

Or maybe there’s Royal Palm Polo, also fairly new. And celebrities, CEOs and musicians have called Long Lake Estates home, Pearl said, drawn for the large piece of property on each homesite. “You can’t get a tear down for less than $2 million,” he said of that neighborhood.
