SAN ANTONIO COMPLETES THREE-TEAM TRADE WITH CLEVELAND AND MIAMI


SAN ANTONIO (July 6, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that the team has acquired forwards Cedi Osman (JED-e AUSS-min) and Lamar Stevens along with two future second round picks and cash considerations in exchange for a future second round pick as part of a three-team trade that included the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.

Osman, 6-7/230, is entering his seventh NBA season after being selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (31st overall) of the 2015 NBA Draft. Appearing in 404 total games, he holds career averages of 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.6 minutes. In 2022-23 with Cleveland, Osman saw action in 77 games (two starts), averaging 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20.1 minutes, where he recorded 10-plus points 29 times off the bench, which ranked 10th in the Eastern Conference. Originally from Turkey/Macedonia, Osman began his professional career overseas, appearing in 70 total games (62 starts) between the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi and the Euroleague’s Anadolu Efes from 2011-17. In 2017-18, the forward signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he spent the first six years of his career.

Stevens, 6-8/225, appeared in 62 games (25 starts) for the Cavs in 2022-23, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game. The third-year pro has appeared in 165 total regular season games with Cleveland and owns career averages 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds, while shooting 46.7% from the field.
