Castle-Like House Seeks $22 Million in Beverly Hills – DIRT
After a short stint on the rental market at a whopping $150,000 per month, a particularly eclectic Beverly Hills spread owned by commercial real estate and hospitality investor Robert Rivani has surfaced for sale. The asking price? A smidge under $22 million, though that amount seems far less outrageous when you consider the property’s lavish albeit one-of-a-kind treasures — and there are many.
Rivani — owner and president of real estate juggernaut Black Lion Investment Group — and wife Krystal purchased the property back in winter 2019 for $13.7 million, before embarking upon a lavish $4 million customization of the premises over the next three years. Previously owned by Carlton Gebbia of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” the mansion was custom-built by her ex-husband, entrepreneur David Gebbia, and completed around 2014.
Hidden away behind walls and a gated driveway, on a nearly 2-acre parcel sited in the guard-gated Beverly Ridge Estates enclave, in the Beverly Hills Post Office area, the two-story stucco and terracotta-roof structure features seven bedrooms and nine baths spread across more than 15,000 square feet of fantasy-laden living space referred to as “Game of Thrones” meets “Harry Potter” by The Wall Street Journal.
Guests are immediately greeted by a soaring great hall resting beneath triple-vaulted ceilings, and displaying a commissioned $50,000 replica of the spiked iron throne from the aforementioned “Game of Thrones.” Other highlights include a custom bar room spotlighted by “dragon-skin” wallpaper and an apothecary cabinet like the one from “Harry Potter,” plus a “Jungle Room” that features a chandelier from Dubai with 300 glass pieces resembling butterflies, and sports walls and ceilings clad with artificial foliage.
Elsewhere is a gourmet kitchen boasting an eat-in island and high-end stainless appliances, formal dining room topped with crown-shaped chandeliers, movie theater, and 2,000-square-foot master retreat tricked out with a former church altar-turned-headboard, bespoke wood fireplace bearing a crown-wearing dragon and private terrace. Outdoors, the entertainment-ready grounds host a pool and spa surrounded by harlequin-patterned pavers laced with patches of grass and flowers, sport court, vegetable garden and an oversized chess set, along with numerous spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also a subterranean garage with room for up to six vehicles.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the couple, who are relocating to Florida, recently purchased a home in The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach.
