Here are the top stories in Miami today:

1. 830 Brickell is the first ever trophy office tower in Miami to be fully leased upon completion, accoridng to developers. Kirkland & Ellis, the world’s largest law firm, has signed six floors of office space in the building. (The Next Miami)

2. The City of Miami Beach is hosting Goodwood’s International Festival of Speed starting in 2024. Organizers have worked with the city for over two years to bring the event to the area. The theme of the event will be “the future of transportation and the end of fossil fuels usage.” (Miami Today)

3. The Greater Miami Jewish Federation volunteered at the Salvation Army Sunday on Northwest 38th Street. The volunteers allowed members of the Salvation Army staff to take the day off to celebrate and enjoy the holiday with their families. (WSVN)

4. Democratic Rep. Marie Woodson is set to lead the celebration Haitian Independence Day in Broward County on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023 from noon to 4 p.m. “Celebrating my culture and honoring that of others is essential and continues to be one of my favorite ways to remain connected with my community,” Woodson said in a statement obtained by Florida Politics. 5. North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony DeFillipo is facing an ethics complaint that he moved outside of the city limits, which could potentially lead to him being removed from office. Chapter 7 of North Miami Beach’s municipal code states a candidate for mayor or city commission must “be a bona fide resident of the City of North Miami Beach and express an intent to remain permanently a bona fide resident of the City during the entire term of office for which he or she is a candidate.” (Miami New Times)
