Inter Miami CF Elite Talent Development Coach Brett Uttley Departs Club, Joins Austin FC II as Head Coach

Inter Miami CF announced today that Elite Talent Development Coach Brett Uttley has departed the Club to accept the role of head coach of Austin FC II, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team which will launch in 2023.

“We’d like to thank Brett for the great work he did with the Club and congratulate him on this exciting new opportunity. We’re very happy to help in the development of our staff and support their advancement; this is a well-deserved move for Brett and we have no doubt he’ll continue to find success as he advances in his coaching career,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.

“It’s been a pleasure working for Inter Miami over these three memorable seasons. I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to Chris Henderson, Phil Neville and all the staff members that have helped make my time at the Club such a positive experience. I’ve learned a lot in my time with Inter Miami and will take those lessons with me as I move forward on to this new opportunity in my career. I wish everybody at the Club continued success in the future,” said Uttley.

Uttley joined Inter Miami in January 2020 as a member of the inaugural coaching staff for the Club and remained with the team through its first three seasons. Prior to joining Inter Miami, he served as First Assistant Coach for Rio Grande Valley FC, the affiliate club of the Houston Dynamo playing in the USL Championship, and fitness coach for Seattle Sounders 2 and head coach for the Sounders U-13s.

In 2022, Uttley specialized in the development of young players making the jump to the First Team from the development pathway at Inter Miami, helping players like Noah Allen, Aimé Mabika and Harvey Neville assimilate to the level this season.

Inter Miami would like to thank Uttley for his contributions and wishes him in his future.
