Rendering’s of Miami’s proposed football facility

New facilities are on the way for the Miami Hurricanes football program.

UM is currently seeking the approval from the City of Coral Gables on a 162,000 square football football operations center and a 200,000 square foot parking garage.

The location of the structures would be between the Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility and the Watsco Center. The current space is primarily a parking lot for the wellness center.

The football facility would house offices for UM’s coaches and personnel, locker rooms, team meeting rooms, an alumni lounge, treatment facilities, a photo studio, media offices, podcast rooms, and a simulator room.

The parking garage appears to be seven stories. The football facility appears to be equally as tall.

The university submitted the application on September 8th. It will be reviewed by the City of Coral Gables on Friday, December 9th at 9:30 a.m.

After approval, Miami’s leadership is hoping to announce the new facility in the first quarter of the 2023 calendar year.

According to sources, this project will cost an estimated $150 million.
