Horrorland Miami has 8 haunted houses, 7 scary paths, 7 resting areas

MIAMI – When the sun goes down Friday, Horrorland Miami will come alive until late Monday night. The promise for ticket holders is a 15,000 square foot journey designed to prey on phobias with “devilish dens” and “lurid lairs.”

There are eight haunted houses: The Stranger Devil House includes the moaning sounds of the undead. The Boneyard Farm is a chamber of tortures with roaring high-speed chainsaws. The Clown Palooza House requires 3-D glasses.

The Voodoo Island is where the witches stalk their prey. The Vampire Circus Show is an invitation to witness a display of “dazzling feats.” The Insanity Playground, The Apocalypse Maze, and The Nun’s Revenge are where “malevolent” forces roam.

There are seven outdoor zones: The Fisherman Killer, Alice in Horrorland, Santa’s Death Wish, The 50′s Blood Diner, Toxic Expedition, Pumpkin Hell, and Granny’s Basement.

There are also seven resting areas: The Macabre Food Village, The Creepy Coffin Bar, The Spooky Beer Garden, The Bloody Carnival Games, The Horror Art Exhibition, The Fearful Gift Shop, and The Scary Photo Souvenir.

“We put a lot of thought into the stories and preparation for this year’s event. It makes the experience that much more terrifying with experienced actors, incredible stage sets, detailed make-up, and costumes,” said Francisco Santos, of Live305 Entertainment, the producer of the event.

These items are not allowed: Backpacks, bags or fanny packs, pets, weapons of any kind, costumes, or masks.

Tickets on Eventbrite range from about $49 to about $89. The box office at the park opens at 6 p.m. Organizers require a signed waiver. They also recommend parents allow only teens who are at least 13 years old.

The attraction opens from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at Jungle Island, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail. For more information, visit the Horrorland Miami page, call 1-800-383-6119, or e-mail [email protected].
