Must-See Music Festivals In Miami This Winter

Winter is the time to be in Miami. The weather is sunny, clear, and warm (but not too hot), and the event calendar is full of celebrations, festivals, and events.

The week-long Art Basel show gets things kicked off in December, and in its wake comes a string of live music, the majority of shows taking place ocean or pool side (pick your poison). The fact that it’s stone crab season is icing on the cake.

Here are some events to consider this winter:

Art With Me

November 26-27, 2022 | Virginia Key Beach Park

Art With Me self describes as an immersive two-day event that “invites you to let go and get illuminated,” the festival stacked with live music, large-scale visual art, and interactive exhibits intended to “ignite your imagination.”

This year’s music lineup features more than a dozen artists. Originally organized in Tulum, Art With Me made its Miami debut last year and was well received. In addition to art, music, and wellness activities (yoga), the festival also offers to connect people through six core principles: art, care, dance, breathe, play, eat.

The sandy beaches and green spaces of Virginia Key Beach Park provide a wonderful backdrop for the weekend event.

Sagamore Hotel 5-Day Epic Pool Party

Nov 30th – Dec 4th, 2022 | Sagamore Hotel

If you’re headed to Miami, there’s a chance you pictured yourself spending some time poolside. Lucky you: The Magic City is home to some of our country’s most-notorious pool parties.

For example, the Sagamore Hotel is throwing a 5-day epic pool party in celebration of Art Basil, with a festival-style stage and variety of DJs, food vendors, and visual displays. You can get a 5-day pass, or buy tickets to individual days.

Rakastella

Dec 3rd, 2022| Virginia Key Beach Park

Another oceanside event at Virginia Key Beach Park is Rakastella, a one-day festival that is “about love for music, love for one another, and love for exotic locations.”

The music is mostly House vibes, featuring a collection of more than a dozen DJs that will all perform throughout the 15+ hour event, beginning with a sunset dance party by the beach.

GroundUP Music Festival

February 3-5, 2022 | Miami Beach Bandshell

The GroundUP Music Festival returns for its sixth year in Miami, a previous year’s show named by The New York Times as one of the “top 10 definitive music moments of the decade.” It takes place at the beachside Miami Beach Bandshell, which was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The lineup spans a variety of styles and is considered multi-genre, including Grammy award-winning musical collective Snarky Puppy and Wilco star Jeff Tweedy.

Other acts in the lineup hail from a variety of countries, including Germany, Mexico, West Africa, Portugal, Colombia, and Switzerland. Attendees are typically diverse in turn, coming from more than 50 countries.

Late-night sets, which are only available to festival pass holders, will take place each night at the Faena Theater following the daytime/evening acts at the Bandshell. Early-Bird tickets are on sale now through Thanksgiving Day.
