No more Miami student activities at Tulsa-McLain, Superintendent says – Newstalk KZRG

Miami Public Schools Superintendent Nick Highsmith says Miami won’t be taking part in any student activities at Tulsa’s McLain High School anymore.

That’s after two 17-year-olds from Tulsa in the crowd were shot at McLain Friday night. One was killed.

The shooting took place at the end of the homecoming football game there between Tulsa McLain the visiting Miami Wardogs.

No one from Miami was injured.

Even so, Highsmith says he cannot allow players, students, staff and family members to return to a place were they have repeatedly been put in danger..

He says he’ll be officially be communicating that message to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association.
