BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball team will open the Suncoast Conference Tuesday night at Titan Field House.

The Titans come into the conference season 8-2 on season and will host No. 8 Miami Dade College at 6 p.m. in the conference opener.

“We are ready, this is what we have been preparing the team for since the beginning of camp,” Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball coach Melito Eleutiza said.

Miami Dade is 7-2 on the season and 1-0 in the conference after a straight-set win over Santa Fe on Saturday.

The Sharks have three players averaging at least 2.69 kills per set this season, led by Anllelivis Fernandez who is second in the state averaging 3.56 kills per set.

“We know it will be a hard match, all of the conference teams are really good and Miami Dade is one of five teams that are ranked in the top 20 shows you how hard this conference is,” Eleutiza said.

“But I believe that we are prepared for the conference season, I believe we have the players to compete in this conference, but we have to execute our game plan.”

Eastern Florida State College is off to one of its best starts in the past decade and is led by the duo of Paulina Dobreva and Sofia Kamke who are among the top five in kills this season.

Dobreva has 83 while Kamke has 78 this season. Teammate Gaia Riedmuller is second in the state in digs with 107.

Miami Dade has won the past eight meetings but the Titans lost in five sets last season at Miami Dade.

Tuesday night’s match will be shown live on the EFSC Titans YouTube page and admission is free to matches at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
