Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Made History Last Night In Miami

Mookie Betts is a Dodger. Damn that’s never going to get old. Markus Lynn Betts is currently on the third year of his 12-year, $365M extension and so far, every penny has been worth it.

Ever since, Betts became a Dodger things just seemed to get better. He’s such a transcendent talent that he makes life easier for the team. His leadership skills, persona and calm demeanor are what have drove his ball club since he’s been here.

Even with all that he’s accomplished, Mookie still isn’t done making history.

Mookie Betts of the @Dodgers is the only MLB player in the modern era to have 3 separate game-tying or go-ahead extra-base hits in the 7th inning or later of a victory.

Since joining LA, he has slashes .275/.360/.525/.885 and has hit for 68 homers and 163 RBI’s.

And last night, the 6-time All-Star was on a tear in Miami. He went 4-6, with 3 runs, 4RBI’s, and 2 HR’s.

Here is how he Mookie became the only player to accomplish this feat. In the 7th inning with the Dodgers trailing 2-1, Betts hit a homer to left that brought in Trayce Thompson which gave them the lead, 3-2.

Moving ahead to the top of the 9th where LA was down 4-3, No. 50 blasted a solo homer to left which tied the game and sent the game into extra innings.

Lastly in the 10th, the right fielder doubled to deep left which scored Chris Taylor and brought Cody Bellinger to third base.

Dodgers ended up taking the first of four from the Marlins, 10-6

Very wild and random stat that I’m sure no avid or even diehard baseball fan knew about. However, if one guy was bound to do it, it was the Tennessee native. He is having one of his best years as a pro and we still have him for 10 more years.

Mookie Betts is HIM.
