How to Watch Atlanta United vs. Seattle Sounders – MLS (8/6/22) | Channel, Stream, Preview
Two teams on the outside of the Major League Soccer playoff picture looking in meet up Saturday afternoon, both hoping to gain ground as Atlanta United gets set to take on the Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders are holding one of the last playoff spots in the Western Conference, for now. Nicolas Lodeiro’s penalty in the 39th-minute helped send Seattle over FC Dallas, 1-0, on Monday. The victory puts the Sounders seventh in the conference holding 32 points. Seattle has won two of their last three matches, which feels much like an improvement after dropping three-straight prior to their win over the Colorado Rapids two weeks ago. They will be tasked with staying in the hunt for the playoffs on the road on Saturday, where the Sounders have won just three of their 11 contests away from Seattle in 2022.
Atlanta is hanging a few points off of a playoff spot, and have not been helping their cause to get into the postseason. Though they are sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference with 25 points, four back of Cincinnati FC, Charlotte FC and Inter Miami, who are in a tie for seventh place. The club won just once last month, that coming in a 2-1 stunner over Real Salt Lake. That was Atlanta’s lone win in their last eight matches, as they have gone 1-4-3 since June 25, including a disappointing scoreless draw against the Chicago Fire last Saturday. Home field is where Atlanta has thrived this season, as five of their six victories have come at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
This will be the lone interconference meeting between the two clubs, with the teams coming to a draw in their matchup in 2021.
