Canha was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs during New York’s win over Miami.

Cahna’s first hit came in the first inning, an inning in which the Mets collected five hits. With the Mets in front 2-0, Cahna singled to right field to score Daniel Vogelbach and move Tyler Naquin to second. That RBI-single by Canha gave the Mets a 3-0 early lead.

Canha then came up big in the third. The Mets were up 4-0 when Cahna hit his second RBI-single, a single to left field this time that scored Naquin and put the Mets ahead of the Marlins 5-0. He later scored when Brandon Nimmo singled in the third to put the Mets on top 6-0.

Canha then led-off the top of the seventh with a line drive to center field, his third of the day to his third outfielder of the day. He scored later inning on a fielder’s choice.

Canha, so far in 2022 is batting .271/.368/.380, with a .748 OPS. He has 43 runs scored, 10 doubles, seven home runs, 34 RBIs, and 33 walks. He also has two stolen bases, one of which he acquired in Sunday’s win.

Cahna spoke briefly with the media Sunday afternoon and described how the Mets are strategists and explained that they game plan and have a plan to how they approach each game.

“We take it one at a time,” said Canha on how the Mets approach the season and stay even-keeled and calm, in both pressure situations and coming off big wins. “We don’t get too high and we don’t get too low,” he said. ”We are very even-keeled,” which is a good thing.
