Jeff Bezos Parents Buy Miami Megamansion for $34 Million

Jeff Bezos’s parents have shelled out $34 million for a waterfront Miami megamansion.

The Amazon founder’s parents, Jackie and Mike Bezos, closed on the deal for the 12,829-square-foot home last week, property records show. The couple purchased the property through a Delaware-based limited liability company, Forgotten Fountain. The LLC shares an address with Bezos Family Foundation, and Mr. and Ms. Bezos are co-founders of the Washington state-based organization.

Raul Calvoz and Raquel Cordon, the former CEO of PetMD, were the sellers. The couple bought the property in 2018 for $8.5 million, property records show. They did not immediately return a request for comment.

The home has been fully renovated, and now includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, according to the listing. It sits on more than 2 acres, with 200 feet of frontage on the Atlantic Ocean and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors throughout.

Other amenities include a quartz wet bar, a rock climbing wall, a gym, a wine cellar and a chef’s kitchen with double ovens and a view of the pool and ocean beyond it, the listing said. There are terraces on both levels of the home.

Outside, there is a pool, a lounge area and an outdoor kitchen and dining area with a built-in grill. There’s also a nine-car garage and a generator that can power the entire house.

Jeff Bezos is currently the second richest person in the world, with a net worth of nearly $144 billion, according to Forbes. In one of the biggest deals of 2020, the tech titan dropped $165 million on a Los Angeles mansion formerly owned by music mogul David Geffen.

His parents are also reportedly buying an adjacent property in an off-market deal for roughly $40 million, according to The Real Deal, which first reported the sale of the $34 million estate.

Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman brokered the deal and declined to comment on the transaction.

Representatives for the Bezos Family Foundation did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
